From 25 November 2023, the DHA will be making changes to the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (subclass 482) and Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream of the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) (subclass 186) visas to provide a simpler and clearer pathway to permanent residence for TSS visa holders.
Employers in Australia who can’t source an appropriately skilled Australian worker can sponsor an overseas worker with a pathway to permanent residency.
Some businesses can sponsor overseas skilled workers when they are able to demonstrate their needs cannot be met in the Australian labour market. Such occupations would not exist on the Skilled Occupation List.
